Dr. Ruth M. Corbin
Managing Partner / CEO
Dr. Ruth M. Corbin, ICD.D, Ph.D., LL.M is Managing Partner and CEO of CorbinPartners Inc., an Adjunct Professor at Osgoode Hall, York University, and a Corporate Director. She is also an Editor of the Journal of Forecasting, the Canadian Intellectual Property Review, and the Trademark Reporter.
Ruth has served on the Boards of The Giles School (Chair), Saint Elizabeth Health Care (Executive and Finance Committees), Toronto Hydro Corporation (Chair of the Audit Committee and the Corporate Governance Committee), Toronto Dance Theatre (Chair of Finance), Toronto Hydro Retail Services Inc., MDS Inc., Trimark Financial Corporation, Alphanet Telecommunications, Unihost Journeys End Hotels, IFR Investigative Research, the Angus Reid Group, the Market Research and Intelligence Association, Canadian Mothercraft Corporation, the Royal Conservatory of Music, and the Traffic Injury Research Foundation.
A recognized expert in marketing and intellectual property assessments, Ruth has previously been Vice-Chair of Leger Marketing, President and Managing Director of Kroll Canada, Chief Operating Officer of the Angus Reid Group, and Managing Partner of Royal Trust's Credit Card and Direct Financial Services Businesses. She is widely published on matters of intellectual property, survey evidence, and risk management, and in frequent demand as a speaker to business audiences. Her book, Survey Evidence and the Law Worldwide, is Canada’s leading reference text on social science evidence in litigation and regulatory affairs.
She has been named among Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women.
In her spare time, she is an avid musician, with performance awards from the Royal Conservatory, Peel Music Festival and Kiwanis Music Festival, and has been featured in the Kiwanis Music Festival “Showcase of the Stars.”

Jon L. Purther
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Jon has over 20 years strategic business planning and product management experience, most notably in the financial services industry, with a proven track record in both Canada and the U.S. He has consulted on international expansion for numerous reputable financial institutions and was a principal member of the team that setup and managed the online brokerage services of Ameritrade and Datek in Canada. Jon was also a driving force behind the business development efforts of CT Securities as a significant component to the overall wealth management strategy of Canada Trust. Prior to that, Jon performed key product development and management roles for TD GreenLine (now TD Waterhouse) and First Marathon.
His educational background includes a Masters in Business Administration from York University and a B.A. from the University of Michigan. In his spare time, Jon and his wife act as chauffeurs for their two young daughters. He also enjoys challenging his body in physical sports much more suited for a younger generation.

Allan Kosciuszko
Director, Operations and Client Service
Allan has enjoyed an extensive background in the operations of large scale quantitative projects. He has worked with some of the major research providers in our industry and over the past decade Allan has held such positions as Senior Project Manager, Client Services, Field Manager as well as Team Leader. What motivates him are research design and addressing the intangibles of Branding but he is as comfortable with the details of a CATI program as he is with the methodology underlying an intercept. Allan has a significant amount of experience in the Banking, Pharmaceutical and the Not for Profit sectors and has several years of experience with Consumer Ad Testing.
Allan has degrees in both Psychology (with distinction and on the deans honour roll) as well as Business with an emphasis in organizational behaviour. When not dreaming about finding the perfect salmon nigiri-sake sushi, he loves riding his bike and can often be found on the paths beside the Don River.

Dr. Sarah Carnegie
Project Manager and Statistical Consultant
Sarah has many years of research experience in the social and biological sciences, and therefore provides distinct experience in research design, data management and statistical analysis. Sarah oversees any advanced statistical projects, manages new research projects, and is the primary champion for our BrandAudit product. Sarah is also our statistical and database consultant in our class action information support practice.
Sarah has a B.Sc. in Anthropology and Biological Sciences (University of Calgary), a M. A. in Anthropology (University of Alberta), and a PhD in Anthropology (University of Calgary). Sarah’s research is published in peer reviewed journals, and contributed book chapters.

Anisha Patel-Edwards
Executive Assistant and Project Coordinator
Anisha brings to the company a unique and refreshing perspective on market research and consumer behaviour. She has several years of experience on marketing and executive support teams in both the not-for-profit and profit industries. Her analytic skills help support the company's surveys and experimental design work. Her passion for international and community development and empowerment inspires her productive management of the CorbinCares Charitable Foundation.
Anisha graduated with Honours from the University of Toronto where she earned degrees in International Development Studies and Psychology. She serves as Assistant Treasurer and Chair of the Settlement Committee of the Kenyan Community in Ontario, and periodically volunteers in Africa with SOS Children's Villages and other not-for-profit organizations. Anisha avidly enjoys the theater, and has won several acting awards. She spends her free time swimming, trekking through uncharted territory, reading historical novellas and modern day thrillers, and travelling the world with her husband.

Dr. Ida E. Berger
Senior Associate
Professor Ida Berger is an expert consultant to CorbinPartners Inc. on matters of marketing, advertising, and consumer behaviour.
A full professor at Ryerson University, she earned B. A., M.B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Toronto with a concentration on consumer attitudes and behaviour regarding branded consumer products. She has previously been a professor of marketing at the business schools of the Universities of Toronto and Queen's University, and has related work experience with McLaren Advertising and Woods Gordon Consulting.
Professor Berger has authored numerous published papers in refereed journals and been featured as a presenter at many academic and business conferences. Her work has been recognized with awards from the American Marketing Association, Journal of Consumer Research and the Marketing and Public Policy Conference. She has also acted as an expert witness in Canada on matters of branding and marketing across a wide range of product and service categories.

Dr. Pauline Wallin

Dr. Pauline Wallin is a psychologist and executive coach, and an expert advisor to the firm on employee attitude and measurement projects. In her independent practice she specializes in psychological screening and testing of employees for hiring and promotion, employee satisfaction surveys and focus groups, workplace assessments, confidential executive coaching, and employee training workshops.
Dr. Wallin has served on several community and professional boards. She is author of Taming your Inner Brat; (Wildcat Canyon Press, 2004), and has twice received the annual Psychologists in the Media award from the Pennsylvania Psychological Association, for her contribution to dissemination of knowledge about measurement and behaviour.

Sheryl Lavine

With a management background in publishing, marketing and communications, Sheryl works with both private and not-for-profit organizations. Her clients are diverse, including leading banks and financial institutions, communications and advertising agencies, major retailers, and professional associations.
An accredited public relations practitioner, Sheryl is a York University graduate, and earned le Diplome annuel des cours de la civilization francaise from la Sorbonne, Paris.
In her free time, Sheryl enjoys travelling, hiking and hanging out with her husband.

Andrea brings an innovative and well-informed perspective to market research. Her diverse background includes communications, marketing, music, and corporate and executive administration. Her project coordination and administration skills benefit from her attention to detail and efficiency.
Andrea graduated with Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University earning degrees in English and Communications, and has a post-graduate certificate in Television Writing and Producing from Humber College. She spends her free time attending and volunteering at music events, travelling to exotic locales and enjoying documentaries and other films.

Fiona Isaacson
Project Manager
Fiona’s unique background includes investigative journalism, tourism, historical interpretation, and market research. She has lived and worked in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Northern Alberta. Her bilingualism, knowledge of the criminal justice system, and experience in covering newsbeats about health, education and politics bring a diverse source of value to CorbinPartners clients.
Fiona has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Humanism from Victoria College at the University of Toronto, and a subsequent degree in Journalism from University of King’s College, Halifax. In her spare time, she enjoys going on random road trips and getting reacquainted with her hometown, Toronto, after being away for nine years.
